Mt. Pleasant girls tennis hands out awards
Walls received Most Victorious Player; Olivas takes Most Improved

MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant girls tennis team handed out end-of-year awards last week after the Panthers’ 2021 season ended at the end of May.
Five Panthers received their first-ever varsity girls’ tennis letters. Among those were seniors Maggie Fitzpatrick and Morelia Elias, as well as juniors Savana Walls, Melanie Olivas and Melena Yocum.
Walls was the recipient of two special awards. She was given the captain award, as well as Most Victorious Player.
Olivas was given the Most Improved Player Award.
The Panthers finished the 2021 season 1-8 overall. Their lone win was a 5-4 victory against Burlington Notre Dame.
