Mt. Pleasant girls' track finishes third at Pen City Relays
The Mt. Pleasant girls' track team finished third at the Pen City Relays on Tuesday afternoon, behind first place Iowa City West and Burlington.
Kaitlin Jones turned in a season best time in the 400 meter hurdles at 67.73 seconds, winning the event. Sierra Wyse, Rebekah Kimzey, Taylor Shull, Jones also won the 4x200 meter relay in 1:51.31.

The Mt. Pleasant girls' track team finished third at the Pen City Relays on Tuesday afternoon, behind first place Iowa City West and Burlington.
Kaitlin Jones turned in a season best time in the 400 meter hurdles at 67.73 seconds, winning the event. Sierra Wyse, Rebekah Kimzey, Taylor Shull, Jones also won the 4x200 meter relay in 1:51.31.
Also picking up a season best time was the 4x400 meter relay team (Wyse, Chloe Haffarnan, Jones, Taylor Shull), who finished fourth in 4:13.80.
The 4x800 meter relay team (Wyse, Taryne Shull, Natalie Myers, Haffarnan) finished second in 10:22.04, along with the shuttle hurdle team (Leslie Taylor, Kimzey, Stark, Jones) with a time of 1:09.01.
Leslie Taylor finished third in the 100 meter hurdles (16.71) and in the long jump (15'-6"); Taryne Shull was third in the 800 meter run, finishing in 2:35.9.
Shayla Knudsen, Kelsey Smith, Grace Lutovsky and Emma Ludwig finished fourth in the distance medley relay, with a time of 4:44.02.
Mt. Pleasant travels to West Branch on Thursday, April 14, for the West Branch Invitational, starting at 5 p.m.
