Mt. Pleasant girls win co-ed Denny White Relays

MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant hosted its annual co-ed Denny White Relays on Thursday night with over 25 teams taking part in the invitational. Eighteen boys’ teams were featured and eight girls’.

Despite some rain, wind and cooler temperatures it was yet another outstanding night on the track for the Mt. Pleasant girls.

The host Panthers racked up 161 points to take the girls’ title. The Panthers were the only Union area team to take part in the girls’ events.

On the boys’ side, Winfield-Mt. Union was the highest placing team. The Wolves finished fourth with 104 points.

Clear Creek-Amana took the title with 187 points.

Mt. Pleasant finished fifth with 84 points. Washington ended up sixth with 82 points. Fairfield finished eighth, posting 80 points. Cardinal rattled off 58 points for 12th. WACO placed 13th with 55.50 points and New London was 15th with 44 points.
