Mt. Pleasant host co-ed meet
Mt. Pleasant Washington, Fairfield and Mid-Prairie all compete

MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant, Washington, Fairfield and Mid-Prairie boys and girls track and field teams were all in action on Thursday night in Mt. Pleasant.
It was a great night on the track for the four squads.
The defending 2A state champion Mid-Prairie girls were the biggest winners on the day.
They finished with nine winners on the day.
Jovi Evans won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.40.
Tabitha Evans was a winner in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.65. Jovi Evans finished third in the event.
Tabitha Evans also took the victory in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.47.
In the 800-meter, Danielle Hostetler was a winner in a time of 2:25.02.
Hostetler also took the 1500-meter with a time of 4:53.11.
Abby Fleming won the 3000-meter run for the Golden Hawks in a time of 11:33.88.
Emma Lueck won the long jump with a jump of 15-10.00.
In high jump, Ella Groenewold finished second with a leap of five feet.
Dessa Poll threw the discus 96-11 for second in the event.
In the distance medley, Madeline Schrader, Amara Jones, Greta Sieren and Hostetler finished first with a time of 4:27.02.
Amara Jones, Ashlee Farrier, Emily Schlabach and Sophie Miller posted a time of 1:13.68 for first in the 4x100-meter shuttle hurdle.
The Mid-Prairie 4x100 of Madeline Schrader, Amara Jones, Jovi Evans and Tabitha Evans finished second with a time of 51.40.
The 800-meter sprint medley of Nevaeh Decker, Dakota Mitchell, Lanee Duwa and Greta Sieren finished second as well clocking 1:59.50.
Mt. Pleasant’s lone winner on the day was Rellana Van Deuren in the 400-meter hurdles. Van Deuren posted a time of 1:13.21 for the top spot.
The 4x200 of Courtney Raub, Tristian Shull, Kynlee White and Andi Scott finished second after running a time of 1:51.10.
Olivia McCormick, Mica Carter, Alexis Wagner and Aliya Graber grabbed a second-place finish for the Panthers as well in the distance medley.
For Washington, Leighton Messinger was the lone winner.
Messinger took the high jump with a leap of five feet.
Iris Dahl was second in the 1500-meter run, clocking a time of 5:14.53.
The Demon’s 4x400 of Grace Voss, Eden Levetzow, Kendall Hinrichsen and Abigail Kleese took second with a time of 4:28.73.
Voss, Hinrichsen, Kleese and Dahl finished second as well in the 4x800. The quartet ran 10:34.88.
Leighton Salazar, Hinrichsen, Ryen Pepper and Leighton Messinger finished second in the 4x100 with a time of 1:14.19.
Fairfield’s Lilly Bergren was a second-place finisher in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.72.
Addison Ferrel was a fifth-place finisher for the Trojans in the 400-meter dash. Ferrel ran a 1:08.98.
The sprint medley of Kiya Robertson, Bergren, Coty Engle and Ferrel finish fifth as well with a time of 2:05.54.
On the boys’ side, Washington, Mt. Pleasant and Mid-Prairie all had winners.
One of two Washington winners was Jude Brown in the 200-meter dash. Brown clocked a time of 23.80 for the top time.
Brayden Hartman was the Demons other winner, throwing the shot put 52’11.25 for first.
Hartman was also the runner-up in the discus with a toss of 140’04.
The Demons Josh Anderson finished second in the 100 and 400-meter wheelchair races with time of 23.54 and 1:35.20.
Ethan Patterson, Aiden Ulin, Alec Ulin and Logan McDole were runner ups in the 800 sprint medley. The group ran 1:40.85.
Patterson, Brown, Alec Ulin and Micah Rees also tallied a second-place finish for the Demons after running 3:43.84 in the distance medley.
Mt. Pleasant’s Gabe Feldmann, Jacob Richtman, Isaac Rynders and Ben Carthey were victorious in the 4x800 with a time of 8:43.60.
Will Davidson was a runner-up in the long jump after tallying a leap of 20’3.
The Panther’s 4x400 of Feldmann, Mason Sloat, Richtman and Davidson finished second with a time of 3:33.35.
Jayden Stafford of Mid-Prairie won the 100, 200 and 400-meter wheelchair with times of 19.99, 36.95 and 1:13.87.
Cain Brown was another winner for the Golden Hawks, taking the long jump crown after a jump of 21’7.
Brown took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.92.
Brown was also a second-place finisher in the high jump with a leap of 6’7.
Jayse Yoder of the Golden Hawks clocked a time of 4:43.86 in the 1600-meter for second overall.
Emmett Swartzentruber finished second as well in the 3200-meter run. He ran 10:08.35 for the runner-up spot.
Fairfield’s highest placer on the day was Ryan Giberson in high jump. Giberson cleared 6’0 for third.
The Trojan’s 4x800 of Ben Boatright, Dayton Mauck, Dylan Adam and Dallen Rippey were also third-place finishers, clocking a time of 9:08.4.
Boatright was a fourth-place finisher in the 800-meter run as well. Boatright finished in 2:14.46.
