Mt. Pleasant manhandles Mediapolis

MEDIAPOLIS - Don't look now, but the Mt. Pleasant baseball team has won five games in a row. The Panthers won their fifth straight game on Tuesday night, mopping Mediapolis 10-2.
The Panthers scored three runs in the second inning, one in the third and two more in the fifth to take a 6-0 advantage. Mediapolis cut the lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth, but the Panthers outscored the Bulldogs 4-1 in the final two innings.
Chase Williamson led the Panthers at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Jaxon Hoyle was 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Corbin Broeker went 3-for-5. Nik Coble finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Rylan Seberg had a double and an RBI. Will Edeker finished the game with one single, and Dalton Gardner had an RBI.
Jack Johnson had a great outing on the mound, giving up just one run on seven hits and three walks, while striking out six batters. Seberg pitched in the seventh and gave up one run on two hits, while striking out one.
The Panthers moved to 11-5 overall with the win. They'll travel to Knoxville for a nonconference doubleheader tonight (Thursday).
