CENTERVILLE ? The Mt. Pleasant JV and middle school teams joined the varsity at the Centerville Invitational on Tuesday.
Mt. Pleasant Middle School?s Logan Murray won another race with a time of 8:39 in the 1.5-mile event
?Murray continued his undefeated season, and our 1, 2 finish with (Ryan) Hutchinson is tops in the area once again,? Mt. Pleasant boys? coach Mitch Anderson said.
Hutchinson finished the race in a time of 8:54 for the runner-up spot.
Jacob Holtkamp was eighth overall with a time of 9:23, while Adam Bodenham placed ninth with a time of 6:18, just barely beating out teammate Dalton Krum, who took 10th place, also with the time of 6:18.
In the JV race for the Mt. Pleasant girls, Emma Smith led the Panthers with a ninth-place finish in a field of 50 runners and a time of 20:21.
?Emma Smith ran well on JV and will be on the varsity squad for Saturday?s meet at North Linn,? Coach Jean Caboth said.
Three other Panther girls were in the top 20: Grace Lutovsky finished 17th with a time of 21:05, and Jasmin Tone had a finish time of 21:11 for 18th place. Hannah Wickham placed 20th with a time of 21:25.
On the boys? side, Drake Martin led the Panthers? JV team with a seventh-place finish and a time of 19:39.
Alex Ita was 15th overall with a time of 20:18, and Faith Pope finished 19th with a time of 20:24.
In the middle school races, the Mt. Pleasant girls were led by sixth-place finisher Taylor Murray with a time of 10:34.
There were 103 runners in the middle school girls? race, and Mt. Pleasant had two other runners in the top 20: Lindsey Moeller took 15th palce with a time of 10:58, and Serie Welcher finished in step with her teammate to take 16th place with another finish time of 10:58.
The Panthers run again at the North Linn Invite on Saturday.
