Mt. Pleasant mops at Brookhart-Crew Relays

FAIRFIELD - The Mt. Pleasant track and field teams dominated the Brookhart-Crew Relays on Monday night. The Panthers won both the girls' portion and the boys' portion of the meet, with the girls scoring 191 and the boys scoring 157.50.

The Panther girls won nine events on the day, including four relays.

The 4X100 team of Maddie Williamson, Karsyn Lamm, Lyndi Vantiger and Kenna Lamm took first in 53.04 seconds. The 4X400 team of Kenna, Avery Sutter, Maggie Jennings and Maggie Cristoforo won in 4:21.67. The distance medley team of Sutter, Vantiger, Cristoforo and Jennings took first in 4:17.97, and the shuttle hurdle team of Williamson, Kenna, Serenity Keomanivong and Karsyn won in 1:10.48.

A few Drake Relays qualifiers returned to the area with wins. Lexie Magnani took the shot put with a throw of 41-10. Maggie Cristoforo won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:06.45, and Abby Ryon won the 3000-meter run in 11:07.25. Claire Holtkamp was second in the 3000, crossing in 12:37.68.

Williamson took first in the 100-meter hurdles. Karsyn was second in that event, crossing in 16.83 seconds. Maggie Jennings won the 800-meter run in 2:31.55.

The Panther boys won four relays on the day. The 4X100 team of Khang Truong, Chase Lamm, Rylan Seberg and Zach Beason took first in 44.23 seconds. The 4X200 team of Truong, Zach Beason, Tate Shull and Seberg won in 1:33.98. The sprint medley team of Truong, Lamm, Seberg and Jacob Stukerjurgen took first in 1:35.84, and the distance medley squad of Colton Hutson, Dalton Church, Mason Mills and Cody Mertens took first in 3:55.88.

Sam Beatty took first in the 400-meter dash, crossing the tape in 53.47 seconds. Jacob Stukerjurgen won the 800 in 2:02.77. Mertens took the 3200 in 9:50.91. Lamm took the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.12 seconds, and Zach Beason won the discus throw in 153-09.
