Panther softball team gets shut out against Wapello, Camanche

WAPELLO — The Mt. Pleasant softball team just couldn’t buy a run at the Wapello tournament on Saturday. The Panthers fell 8-0 to the hosting Arrows and dropped a game 11-0 against Camanche.
The Panthers had just two hits against Wapello, one of which went for extra bases. Emma Starr went 1-for-2 with a double, and Kynlee White went 1-for-2 with a stolen base.
Myah Starr threw a complete game, giving up eight runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks, while striking out four batters.
The Panther offense collected five hits against Camanche. Macy Jones went 2-for-2 with a double to lead the team. Emma Starr, White and Keagyn Coleman all had hits.
Chley Cook started the game for the Panthers, giving up five runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks, while striking out one batter. Myah Starr threw 1.1 innings in relief.
The Panthers were meant to play Burlington in both baseball and softball on Thursday night, but The Games were postponed.
