Panther cheerleading camp
Kindergarteners through fifth graders are invited to attend Panther cheerleading camp on Sept. 17 and 24 and Oct. 1 and 8. Camp for kindergarterners and first graders will be from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., and for second-fifth graders, from 6:15 to 7 p.m. at Cottrell Gym. Campers will learn jumps and chants and do flexibility exercises, and then they will have the opportunity to cheer at the Mt. Pleasant varsity football game against Keokuk on Friday, Oct. 12. Each participant will receive pom poms. There is a fee to attend the camp, and registration ends on Friday, Sept. 14.
Kindergarten flag football
This program focuses on teaching kindergarteners the fundamentals of football though fun, but no contact drills. Participants can meet at the East Lake Park Softball Complex from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from Sept. 18 - Oct. 9. There is a fee to attend the camp and registration ends Friday, Sept. 14.
First-sixth grade flag football
This program for boys and girls is designed to teach the basics of football in a fun and safe environment without any contact drills. All games will be played at the East Lake Park Soccer Complex. The program begins in September, and volunteer coaches are still needed. There is a fee to attend the camp, and registration ends on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
