MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant boys soccer put on a scoring onslaught in its first game of the season at East Lake Park Tuesday.
The Panthers scored early and often on their way to a shutout 10-0 victory over the Bears.
It didn’t take long for the Panthers to get going as they notched a pair of goals through the opening eight minutes.
Mt. Pleasant only extended the advantage to the end of the first half, leading 7-0.
Dylan White, Kohen Cass, Jonah Zimmer, Akbar Wilson, Aiden Humble all scored in the first half.
Wilson notched a pair of assists as well.
Mt. Pleasant kept the pace up in the second half and got the three goals to end the game prematurely.
White, Cass and Zimmer all ended with a pair of goals in the win. Brandon Veloz put one in the back of the net as well.
The Panthers open the season 1-0 with the win and will take on Clear Creek Amana on the road Thursday.
