ALBIA — Just a couple of weeks into the high school volleyball season, and Mt. Pleasant is already halfway to last season’s win total.
The Panthers bounced back after losses to Clear Creek-Amana and Washington by going on the road and sweeping Albia, the same team it lost to twice in 2024.
Mt. Pleasant didn’t leave a lot of doubt. The Panthers won the first set 25-17, the second 25-6 and the third 25-21.
The win puts the Panthers at 6-3 overall. Mt. Pleasant had just 12 wins by the end of last season, and nine in each of the previous two.
Mt. Pleasant does sit 0-1 in the Southeast Conference after the Washington loss, but the Panthers will look to even that up with a home game against Keokuk (1-8, 0-1) on Tuesday night.
