Mt. Pleasant tennis makes it 10 straight
Panthers take seven matches against Maharishi to remain unbeaten

FAIRFIELD — With a victory over Maharishi School on Friday, the Mt. Pleasant boys tennis team now sits at a perfect 10-0.
The Panthers grabbed their 10th win of the season with a 7-2 victory over Maharishi School.
It’s the second time this season the Panthers have gotten the better of the Pioneers.
The lone loss for Mt. Pleasant came in the No. 1 match as the Pioneers’ Ruimin Luo defeated Owen Vansickel 6-1, 6-4.
Jake Ensminger won the No. 2 match for the Panthers 6-0 and 6-1 over the Pioneers’ Jayanta Wegman.
Mt. Pleasant’s Elliot Cook defeated the Pioneers’ Polo Altynski-Ross 6-2 and 6-3.
Phoenix Watson topped Maharishi’s Han (Xiaohan) Wang 6-3 and 6-1.
In the No. 5 match, Tim Cam was victorious over Gabriel “Chacho” Roesler 6-3 and 6-2.
Mt. Pleasant’s final singles win came from Gavin Ross 7-5 and 6-2 over Mekhi Kahiu.
In doubles, Vansickel and Ensminger defeated Luo and Wegman 8-5.
The second double’s match concluded with Cook and Watson winning 8-5 over Wang and Roesler.
Maharishi’s lone doubles victory came in the No. 3 match as Kahiu and Altynski-Ross defeated Cam and Lou Schimmelpfennig 8-5.
Maharishi moves to 4-2 on the season.
