Mt. Pleasant tennis sweeps Fort Madison
Panthers don’t give up a single set to Bloodhounds

MT. PLEASANT — Thursday was a great day for the Mt. Pleasant boys tennis team.
The Panthers were big winners over the Bloodhounds of Fort Madison, 9-0.
It was a complete sweep for the Panthers as they didn’t give up a single set to the Bloodhounds in singles or doubles.
Owen Vansickel was a winner in the No. 1 match of the day, defeating the Bloodhounds Aiden Benda 6-0 in each of the two sets.
Elliot Cook was victorious in the No. 2 match, taking his pair of sets 6-2 and 6-0.
Phoenix Watson was a complete sweep winner of Fort Madison’s Jedidiah Bruster 6-0 in each of the matches.
Tim Cam, Gavin Ross and Lou Schimmelpfennig were wall winners as well.
Cam won his match 6-0 and 6-2, Ross 6-2, 6-0 and Schimmelpfennig 1-0.
In doubles, the duo of Vansickel and Cook dominated their opening set 6-0 and took the second 6-3.
Watson and Cam gave up just one match, taking their two sets 6-0 and 6-1.
Ross and Schimmelpfennig were winners as well 1-0.
The win moves the Panthers to 3-0 on the season.
Mt. Pleasant will be back in action on Monday on the road at Fairfield.
