The Mt. Pleasant boys? and girls? bowling teams will be right at home when they compete in their Class 1A bowling state qualifier: they will be competing at Iris Bowling Center in Mt. Pleasant for the meet, which is on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m.
The Panthers will be bowling against teams from Fairfield, Keokuk, Louisa-Muscatine, North Scott (Eldridge) and Washington.
The top finisher at the meet from both the boys? and girls? sides will advance automatically to the state tournament. The next two teams across the state also advance. Last season, the girls? received an at-large bid after coming in second to the eventual champion, Keokuk, at the qualifier. The Panther boys fell short of a state tournament berth last season.
