Mt. Pleasant, Washington show out at Brookhart-Crew Relays
Panther and Demon boys tie for first overall, Panther girls take top spot

FAIRFIELD — A windy night in Fairfield turned out to be a stellar night of competition for Mt. Pleasant, Washington and Fairfield.
All six boys and girls squads performed well in the Trojans Brookhart-Crew Relays.
Washington and Mt. Pleasant put together a great showing on the boys’ side. The two teams finished tied at 137 points a piece.
Fairfield finished fourth in its home meet with 79.50 points.
Fort Madison took third with 96.50 points. Davis County and West Burlington also competed.
For the girls, Mt. Pleasant was the highest placer. The Panthers finished with 152 points, good enough for first overall.
Washington came in second with 125 total points. Fairfield finished third with 91 points.
Davis County, Fort Madison and West Burlington followed.
Washington had numerous winners on the day.
Brayden Hartman was a winner in discus with a throw of 149 feet.
Micah Rees took the 1600-meter title with a time of 4:33.88.
Josh Anderson was a winner in the 400-meter, 200-meter and 100-meter wheelchair with times of 1:24.21, 40.45 and 20.57.
Aidan Ulin clocked a 11.12 in the 100-meter dash for first overall.
The Demons 4x110 meter shuttle hurdle of Austin Rebling, James Strabala, Caden Greiner and Mason Morgan were first-place finishers with a time of 1:06.41.
The sprint medley of Ethan Patterson, Aidan Ulin, Cameron Vongpanya and Alec Ulin placed first with a time of 1:38.21.
In the 4x200, Alec Ulin, Keider Gomez Valdez, Vongpanya and Brennen Westphal ran a 1:36.93 for first.
For Mt. Pleasant, Isaac Jerrel was a winner in shot put. Jerrel threw 50.01 feet for first overall.
In long jump, Avin Truong jumped 21-11.50 for the top spot.
Jacob Richtman won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.52. It was the only time below one minute.
Will Davidson ran the 100-meter hurdles in 14.60 for the title.
Davidson also clocked a time of 21.73 for the top spot in the 200-meter. That’s the second fastest time in the state and fasted in class 3A.
The Panther’s 4x800 of Richtman, Isaac Rynders, Gabe Feldmann and Ben Carthey posted the top time of 8:42.22.
In the 4x400, Richtman, Feldmann, Tyler Johnson and Mason Sloat clocked a time of 3:37.94 for first overall as well.
Fairfield’s individual winner on the day was Ryan Giberson. Giberson took the high jump with a leap of 6’4. A new personal best.
On the girls’ side, Mt. Pleasant had three individual winners.
Andi Scott was a winner in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.87.
Elsie Lange took the 400-meter title with a 1:05.91 time.
Savannah Slobodnik threw the disc 109-02 feet for first overall.
The Panther’s 4x200 of Kynlee White, Bailey Jalas, Courtney Raub and Andi Scott finished with a time of 1:49.63 for first.
Alex Scott, Tristian Shull, Natalie Freeman and Abby Carthey ran a 4:42.43 for the top spot.
Washington’s Lauren Horak won the 800-meter with a time of 2:34.43.
Iris Dahl clocked 5:05.09 for first in the 1500-meter.
Grace Voss was a winner in high jump with a leap of 5’0.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Leighton Messinger posted a time of 16.88 for first.
The Demon’s 4x400 of Grace Voss, Leighton Messinger, Carys Miller and Taylor Miksch were first after a time of 4:25.66.
Fairfield had a pair of relay winners on the day.
The 4x800 of Addison Ferrel, Ashlyn Lisk, Carley Seeley and Malena Bloomquist clocked a time of 10:45.36 for the top spot.
In the 4x100-meter shuttle hurdle relay, Maya Lane, Lilly Bergren, Hayley Reinier and Isabel McCready were winner after running a time of 1:12.82.
