Mt. Pleasant wrestling drops SEC road meet

FORT MADISON — The Mt. Pleasant wrestling team went into Fort Madison for a Southeast Conference dual on Thursday night, but the Panthers didn’t have enough to upset the defending champion Bloodhounds.

The Fort Madison boys knocked off Mt. Pleasant 66-18, dropping the Panthers to 1-1 in SEC action.

Mt. Pleasant had just three wins on the night, but they were all pins.

Landon Beckler pinned his man at 106, earning the pinfall in 3 minutes, 58 seconds. At 126 pounds, Lane Beckler pinned his opponent in 45 seconds, and Ramzy Davis earned a pin at 150 pounds, winning in 3:56.

There were two girls matches in the meet as well. Mt. Pleasant’s Peyton Mowery and Paris Phosy each lost by fall.
