MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant’s Sami Wibben will be staying in town for her collegiate golf career.
The Panther senior signed her letter of intent to attend and play golf at Iowa Wesleyan on Thursday, surrounded by family and coaches.
Wibben was one of the top Mt. Pleasant golfers last year. She finished ninth at the Southeast Conference tournament, shooting 103 at that meet.
Wibben finished 16th at the state qualifier last year, finishing the tournament out at 98.
She’ll be joining a Tiger women’s golf team that finished Top-3 in two different tournaments, including a second place result at the IW Tiger Classic in September.
The Tiger golf program, headed up by Coach Kurt Moon, is no stranger to local talent. This school year, Mt. Pleasant golfers make up a sizable portion of the Iowa Wesleyan roster. Five of the 14 Tiger golfers went to Mt. Pleasant High School.
