Just four teams remain in the 2024 Men’s NCAA Tournament.
Two top seeds, along with a No. 4 seed and No. 11 seed get the chance to play for a trip to the National Championship on Saturday.
Representing the East region is No. 1 UConn. The Huskies are looking like the team to beat after crushing the competition through the first four rounds. The Huskies closest game thus far was a 17 point win over Northwestern.
UConn defeated No. 3 Illinois 77-52 in the Elite Eight.
Their opponent? The West Champions in No. 4 seeded Alabama. Alabama upset No. 1 seed UNC in the Sweet 16 89-87, before following up with a win over No. 6 Clemson in the Elite Eight. The Tide will have to be on their game to pull out a win over the Huskies. UConn is an 11.5-point favorite on the college basketball odds board.
The other semifinal will feature top seeded Purdue and cinderella No. 11 NC State. Purdue, who is an 8.5-point favorite in the latest 2024 NCAA Tournament odds, has proved that they’re a championship contender. Led by 7’4 center Zach Edey, the Boilermakers topped No. 2 Tennessee, 72-66, to get back to the Final Four for the first time since 1980.
As for NC State, it’s been quite a run. The Wolfpack won five games in five day through the ACC Tournament and have carried that momentum into the tournament. They’re winners of nine straight.
The Wolfpack went through No. 2 Marquette in the Sweet 16 and then knocked off No. 4 Duke in the Elite Eight to take the South Region crown.
The Final Four schedule is as follows.
Saturday, April 6
No. 1 Purdue vs. No. 11 NC State (5:09 p.m.)
No. 1 UConn vs. No. 4 Alabama (7:49 p.m.)
