Neil knocks in game winner to lift Trojans
The Fairfield girls? soccer team rallied to score two goals in the final six minutes Thursday, knocking off Washington 3-2 in Southeast Conference action at Trojan Stadium.
Down 2-1 and time expiring, Fairfield?s Elaine Brandt scored the tying goal with 5:42 on the clock. Taylor Neil completed the comeback with a goal of her own at the 76-minute mark.

The Fairfield girls? soccer team rallied to score two goals in the final six minutes Thursday, knocking off Washington 3-2 in Southeast Conference action at Trojan Stadium.
Down 2-1 and time expiring, Fairfield?s Elaine Brandt scored the tying goal with 5:42 on the clock. Taylor Neil completed the comeback with a goal of her own at the 76-minute mark.
The win improves Fairfield?s record to 2-2 overall and hands the Trojans their first conference victory in 2012.
Washington (1-3, 0-1 SEC) was the first to get on the scoreboard when Jannel Ramirez scored at the 28-minute mark, and the Demons entered the break with the one-score lead.
Neil, a senior, scored her first of two goals at the 58-minute mark to tie the game at 1-all, but Washington?s Haley Ross answered in the final 10 minutes to give the Demons what would be their final lead, at 2-1.
For Fairfield, sophomore Claudia Sloat tallied two assists and senior Serena Ward distributed one.
Fairfield also won the JV contest 2-0 with goals coming from sophomores Alina Winters and Halie Meador. Erica Winslow, another sophomore, and Winters each recorded one assist.
Both the Trojans? JV and varsity squads are back in action tonight in Knoxville.
