New London 2-2 at Muscatine volleyball tournament
Mid-Prairie finishes the day 1-2

MUSCATINE — New London and Mid-Prairie traveled to the Muscatine volleyball tournament on Saturday, and it was the Tigers that had the better day. No. 8 (1A) New London finished the tournament at 2-2, and Mid-Prairie went 1-2.
New London’s two wins came over Mediapolis and Mid-Prairie. The Tigers dominated Mediapolis 21-8, 21-3, and then pulled out a 20-22, 21-18, 15-4 win over the Golden Hawks.
New London played hosting Muscatine close, falling 21-17, 19-21, 15-12. The Tigers were upended by undefeated West Liberty, 21-7 and 21-8.
New London’s Natalie Burden had 20 kills on the day, 13 against Muscatine. Aliyah Christensen led the team with 30 assists, and Emma Nye had 44 digs.
Mid-Prairie’s only victory was a three-set win over Mediapolis. The Golden Hawks won that one 15-21, 21-17, 15-5. Mid-Prairie was swept by Muscatine, falling 21-9 and 24-22.
