New London baseball grabs another SEISC South win

Two runs in the third inning and an insurance run in the sixth boosted the New London baseball team to a 5-2 Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division win over West Burlington Wednesday night. The game was originally scheduled for Monday evening but was rained out.
Kris Millard hit a two RBI single in the top of the first inning to get the scoring started for the Tigers (4-5 overall, 4-3 SEISC South) before adding an RBI sacrifice fly in the third. Millard finished the night two-for-four with three RBIs and a stolen base, leading the team at the plate.
Dalton Dudley and Matayo Christianer were also two-for-four at the plate against West Burlington with an RBI from Dudley.
West Burlington (6-3 overall, 5-2 SEISC South) scored in the third inning on an error by Tigers shortstop Dudley, followed by Skylar Schmeiser driving in Taylor Newland in the fifth inning on a single.
Austin Allen picked up the win for the Tigers, pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts but allowing two runs on five hits and walking one.
New London hosts Lone Tree in a non-conference JV/varsity match-up tonight, starting at 5:30 p.m.
