NEW LONDON — With their backs against the wall on Saturday, the No. 7 (1A) New London baseball team wouldn’t say die.
The Tigers rallied back from a 3-1 deficit to win their Class 1A Substate 5 semifinal game 4-3 over Sigourney.
In a tie game with the bases loaded and nobody out, Josh Catala bounced a ball to short stop and Ryan Richey scampered home for the winning run.
A full story on this game will be in Monday’s edition of The Union.
