New London devistates Iowa Valley

NEW LONDON - Don't look now, but the defending 8-Man football champions are playing their best ball of the season.
With their backs squarely against the wall and no room for error in the playoff hunt, the Tigers blistered Iowa Valley 68-32, eliminating the defending district champions from contention.
The scoring started on a huge special teams play by Blaise Porter. After a stop by the New London defense, he returned a punt 58 yards to the end zone. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 8-0 New London early.
The Tigers ran in a pair of touchdowns before the first period was over. Shae Summerfield found the end zone from 28-yards out and Cameron Raines punched one in from one-yard out to make it 22-0. Iowa Valley put up a score at the end of the first, but it was 22-6 Tigers after 12 minutes.
IV threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter. Those sandwiched the only New London touchdown of the period, a 20-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Streeter to Cameron Raines. At the break, New London led 28-18.
The Tigers busted it open in the second half, scoring 32 unanswered poitns. Raines scored on an eight-yard run to bring the score to 34-17, and Summerfield hammered the IV defense for there more touchdown runs and a safety on defense.
New London led 60-18 early in the fourth quarter. IV scored twice in the final period, but it was too little too late.
Summerfield ran for 224 yards and four touchdowns. Raines went for 30 yards and two scores on the ground.
Streeter was 2-3 passing the ball for 27 yards and one touchdown. Raines led the team in receiving with one catch for 21 yards and a score.
Carter Allen led New London's defense with seven total tackles anda sack. Jaxon Allen had 5.5 tackles on the night, and both Curey Jacobs and Boden Pickle had five.
