BUSSEY - New London was a huge favorite coming into Friday night's game at Twin Cedars, and the Tigers showed why with a 62-12 win.
The Tigers wasted no time, scoring 32 points in the first quarter. New London led 46-6 at halftime to start the running clock at the beginning of the third quarter, and took a 62-6 lead into the final period.
Quarterback Blaise Porter has been doing defenses dirty with his feet all year, but the sophomore slinger used his arm to burn the Sabres. Porter went 4-for-8 passing the ball for 112 yards and four touchdowns. He only ran the ball three times, for 32 yards.
Porter's favorite receiver was Bowen Glaha, who caught two passes for 41 yards and two touchdowns. Cadin Wahls caught a 32-yard touchdown pass. Ryan Richey threw for 12 yards and a score.
The Tigers had four different runners find the end zone on the ground. Wahls ran for 62 yards and a touchdown, and Brenden Richey, Torren Riley and Marcel Lopez ran for one score.
The New London defense picked off three passes on the day. Porter picked one off and brought it back 40 yards to the end zone. Lopez and Evan Reed each had one interception. Currey Jacobs led the defense with six tackles.
The Tigers ended the season at 5-1. They'll host WACO in the first round of the playoffs this Friday.
