VICTOR - Despite another monster night from running back Shae Summerfield, the New London football team dropped their second district game in a row on Friday night.
The Tigers cut a 20-point Hartwick-Ladora-Victor lead to six points in the third quarter, but HLV was able to tack one on late to knock off New London 34-22.
The Warriors led 28-8 late in the second quarter, with Summerfield's 24-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion earlier in the period accounting for all eight New London points.
The final score of the second quarter was the biggest play of the night for New London. Summerfield broke out a 73-yard touchdown run to ignite the Tiger crowd. He ran in the two-point conversion again, and it was 28-16 HLV at the half.
The third quarter saw just one score, and it was Summerfield's third of the game. He put one in from six yards out. The two-point try failed, but it was a whole new ballgame, at 28-22.
Unfortunately for Tiger fans, New London wasn't able to find the end zone for the rest of the game, and HLV's Will Bayer caught an eight-yard touchdown pass in the fourth to put the game on ice.
Summerfield ran the ball 25 times for 296 yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense.
Ethan Streeter went 10-15 for 65 yards and an interception. Blaise Porter led the receivers with three catches for 51 yards. Caydin Wahls led the defense with seven tackles.
