New London girls win SEISC title
Tiger’s Phillips takes conference runner-up spot

FORT MADISON — Southeast Iowa Super Conference girls golf teams gathered at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Park on Monday to compete for the SEISC girls golf title.
When all was said and done in the invitational, it was the Tigers of New London who finished atop the conference standings.
The Tigers led with a team low of 355. Highland followed with a second-place finish after scoring 389.
Winfield-Mt. Union took fifth with 459 points. Van Buren County ended with 478 points for sixth. Columbus didn’t post a team score.
Louisa-Muscatine finished third (413), Mediapolis fourth (422) and Wapello seventh (585).
Burlington Notre Dame, Central Lee, Danville, Holy Trinity and Lone Tree did not post team scores.
For the champion Tigers, Taylor Phillips led with a final score of 79. Phillips was the meet runner-up, missing out on the medalist position by one stroke.
Sophie Malott shot an 87 good enough for third, Emma Nye carded a 94, Emma Busby finished with a 95, Stevey Wintermeyer posted a 110 and Isabelle Nye had a 120.
For Highland, Danika Kraus shot a 90. Adisyn Prottsman finished with a 95. Kelsi Cerny ended with a 101. Adeline Krotz shot a 103. Jenna Waters had 109 and Emerson Schultz ended with 130.
Alli Humphreys led Winfield-Mt. Union with 107. Isabel Kann golfed a 112. Kaelyn Townsley finished with 116. Ava Hagge ended with a 124. Anna Anderson finished with 125. Afton Wilkerson had 139.
For Columbus, Kinlee Brown shot a 121. Hailey Wellington finished with 137 and Jocelyn Hernandez posted a 141.
All golfers in the top six were named first team all-conference. New London’s Phillips, Malott, Nye and Busby, along with Kraus of Highland all earned the distinction.
On second team, were Highlands Prottsman, Cerny and Krotz.
Humphreys of WMU and Waters of Highland finished third team all-conference.
