New London golf sees victory
Tiger girls and boys take on Central Lee and Wapello

The New London girls and boys golf teams had a pretty good start to their week as both squads picked up victories.
On the girls’ side, the Tigers grabbed a pair of wins over Central Lee and Wapello.
New London shot a 188 against the Hawks, while Central Lee did not post a team score. In the competition with the Arrows, the Tigers won the battle 174-246.
The Tiger boys grabbed a win over Central Lee as well, but finished with a tie against the Indians of Wapello.
Against Central Lee, New London took the victory by a score of 192-200. In the meet with Wapello, both squads finished with a score of 180.
Leading the Tiger girls against the Hawks was Taylor Philips with a 42 for medalist honors.
Teammate Sophie Malott finished as the runner-up with a 43. Emma Nye shot a 48. Emma Busby carded a 55 and Isabelle Nye finished with a 59.
For the boys, Wyatt Miller lead all scorers with a 44. Coen Fitzpatrick tied for second with a 48. Mason Shelledy shot a 49. Weston Miller ended with a 51 and Sully Barron finished with 59.
Against Wapello, Phillips once again led the Tiger girls, this time with a 41. Malott followed once again, finishing with 43. Busby finished third with a 44. Emma Nye shot a 46 for fourth, Isabelle Nye ended with 54 and Stevey Wintermeyer tallied a 59.
Shelledy led Tiger against the Indians. He finished as runner-up with a final score of 40. Weston Miller shot a 45. Wyatt Miller ended with a 47. Fitzpatrick shot a 48. Barron had 55 and Vegas Watson a 64.
