New London grad, Brown, earns Academic honors

WAVERLY — Former New London track and cross-country standout Alexis Brown was given the distinction of being named to the American Rivers Conference (ARC) 2022 All-Academic Team.
Brown, who runs for the Wartburg women’s cross-country team was one of 92 Wartburg College student-athletes to be named to the 2022 list.
To be eligible for The Arc All-Academic Team honors, student-athletes must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence and attain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
The award is just one of Browns at Wartburg this season. She was also given All-American, All-Region and All-Conference honors.
She helped the Knights take 3rd at the 2022 NCAA Championships.
At New London, Brown’s best finish was 8th as an individual at state. She was also a conference champion.
