The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association sent out its All-District teams this week, and as one would imagine, the Southeast section of the list has a lot of familiar names.
New London led the way with five names on the Class 1A Southeast first team. The Tigers placed pitcher Hecniel Rodriguez, catcher Tucker Gibbar, first baseman Carter Allen, outfielder Josh Catala and utility man Kooper Schulte on the list after a magical season that ended at the Class 1A state tournament.
Also on the Class 1A first team were a pair of Keota players, pitcher Colten Clarahan and outfielder Brady Duwa.
Highland had one player make the Class 1A first team. Pitcher Chase Schultz represented the Huskies on the top team.
The Class 1A second team featured a handful of area names as well. Pitcher Carson Sprouse of Keota, shortstop Luke Miller of Highland and outfielder Camden Kasel of New London were all on the list.
The Class 2A Southeast squad featured three from Mid-Prairie. Aidan Rath made the squad as a pitcher. Vinnie Bowlin was selected as a catcher and Karson Grout made it as a shortstop.
Also on the Class 2A first team was Van Buren County first baseman Ryan Wolf.
Mid-Prairie continued to fill up the list when it came to the second team. The Golden Hawks added two names to the group, second baseman Kayden Reinier and utility player Keegan Gingerich.
Van Buren County placed two names on the second team. Pitcher Taylor Sprouse and catcher Treyton Bainbridge were selected.
The Class 3A list featured four Washington Demons, three of whom came from the first team.
Among the Class 3A Southeast first team names were Demon catcher Ethan Zieglowsky, outfielder Reece Mayer and utility player Lucas Kroll. Third-baseman Wilx Witthoft was chosen to the second team.
Fairfield had one player named to the teams, and he was a first-teamer. Utility player Nate Smithburg got the nod to represent the Trojans.
