MORAVIA - The New London baseball team had a business trip to Moravia on Tuesday night. The Tigers went in and rolled to a 12-0 win, ending the game in six innings.
New London scored one run in the first inning and three in the third to take a 4-0 advantage after three. New London tacked on three more runs in the fifth inning and really poured it on in the sixth, batting through the lineup for five runs.
New London was led offensively by Shae Summerfield who went a perfect 3-3 with a double and four RBIs. Jaxon Allen was 2-4 with four RBIs of his own. Connor Schoenbein drove in one run in a pinch-hit appearance. Seth Bailey was 2-3, and both Darius Whaley and Mason Porter had a hit.
Bailey started the game on the mound and got the win. He threw five shutout innings, giving up three hits and three walks, while striking out one. Darius Whaley threw a shutout sixth inning, giving up one hit and one walk, while striking out three.
The Tigers are now 6-10. They'll host Winfield-Mt. Union tonight (Wednesday) in a SEISC cross-over game.
