New London rallies, Highland stays hot

No. 6 (1A) New London 13, Keota 8
KEOTA — The Eagles had the unbeaten Tigers down 8-3 after four innings on Thursday, but New London scrapped back with six runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to stay unbeaten.
Ryan Richey sent 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead New London. Brendon Richey collected four RBIs.
Keota’s Aidan Anderson knocked in three runs. Colten Clarahan was 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Caden Clarahan went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Tanner Waterhouse knocked in a pair.
Keota 6, Belle Plaine 4
The Eagles bounced back on Friday with a two-run win over Belle Plaine. Caleb Waterhouse went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Anderson earned the win on the mound.
Mid-Prairie 8, Northeast 4
Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Mid-Prairie rallied for five runs to scoop up a River Valley crossover win at home.
Cain Brown was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Alex Bean went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Dylan Henry collected two hits.
Mid-Prairie 8, Tipton 2
In Tipton on Friday, the Golden Hawks scored a second-straight crossover win. Down 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Mid-Prairie exploded for seven runs.
Will Cavanagh and Brock Harland each had two hits. Collin Miller collected a pair of RBIs.
Cardinal 5, West Burlington 1
Cardinal scored the first five runs in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division win.
Landon Becker went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and also earned the win on the mound. Carson Kenney had the team’s only other RBI.
Van Buren County 8, Central Lee 1
After surrendering a first-inning run, Van Buren County put together eight-straight runs to score a SEISC South win.
The Warriors scored four in the second, three in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Van Buren County 5, Danville 4
One day after the Central Lee win, the Warriors rallied back from down 4-2 in the sixth to take down Danville.
Van Buren County scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held the Bears scoreless in their last at-bat.
Highland 11, Pekin 1(6)
The Panthers put up a run in the first, but the Huskies collected 11 over their first six at-bats to end the game one inning early.
The Huskies hit two home runs in the win. Chase Schultz went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and four RBIs, and Logan Bonebrake was 2-for-3 with a bomb and three RBIs. Ethan Paisley threw a complete game to win.
Colton Comstock was 2-for-3 to lead Pekin. Chase Stansberry went 1-for-3 with a run scored, and both Chandler Stull and Jackson Horras each hit doubles.
Highland 7, Wapello 3
On Friday, Highland scored a second-straight SEISC North victory.
Trevor McFarland went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs. Connor Grinstead was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and also struck out seven batters over six innings of work on the mound.
Mediapolis 7, Hillcrest Academy 3
The Ravens had a three-run lead going into the sixth, but first-place Mediapolis scored seven in the sixth to stay unbeaten on Thursday.
Jace Rempel went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in the loss. Seth Our knocked in a run.
Hillcrest Academy 15, Pekin 11
The Ravens and Panthers battled in a wild ballgame, which saw 27 runs on 23 hits combined.
Jace Rempel was 1-for-4 with three RBIs for Hillcrest. Josiah Beachy knocked in two runs. Grant Bender was 3-for-5 with a double, and Luke Schrock was 2-for-6 with an RBI.
Pekin’s Koy Pollock went deep, finishing 1-for-2 with a homer and four RBIs. Levi Coleman was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
