New London sweeps Harmony
NEW LONDON ? The New London girls cruised to a 65-30 win over Harmony on Tuesday and, despite a late push from the Rockets, the Tiger boys held on to a lead for a win of their own, 30-29, in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division game.
In the girls? game, the Tigers (7-14, 5-11 SEISC South) got off to a early lead with a 22-point first quarter on their way to the big win.

NEW LONDON ? The New London girls cruised to a 65-30 win over Harmony on Tuesday and, despite a late push from the Rockets, the Tiger boys held on to a lead for a win of their own, 30-29, in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division game.
In the girls? game, the Tigers (7-14, 5-11 SEISC South) got off to a early lead with a 22-point first quarter on their way to the big win.
Morgan Christner and Addie Lounsbury scored 15 points each for New London in the victory, which was the 100th career win for Coach Duane Blint. Two other Tigers also scored in double figures: Victoria Noel put up 13 points and Sami Koontz added 10.
As a team, the Tigers shot 38.7 percent from the field (24-for-62) on the night.
Christner pulled down 16 rebounds to finish with another double-double, and she also blocked two shots.
Koontz dished six assists and Noel had seven steals.
In the boys? game, New London had a solid lead going into the final quarter, 23-14. However, in the last eight minutes, the Rockets came up with 15 points ? more than they had scored in the previous three quarters combined ? to make a late push for the win.
The Tigers stopped them just short, upping the New London record to 6-14 overall and 6-12 in the SEISC South.
Quincy Porter scored eight points for the Tigers in the win. Cameron Watson pulled down 11 rebounds and Tristan Kadel grabbed 10.
Next up for the girls is their first-round regional game against W-MU in Winfield on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
The boys play in the SEISC Shootout on Friday night. They will travel to Louisa-Muscatine for the event, which begins with the JV game at 6 p.m. The varsity game will follow.
