New London to 10 in volleyball rankings

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its third set of rankings for the 2022 season on Thursday and the Union coverage area had a pair of teams on the list.

After knocking off previous No. 8 Holy Trinity on the road, New London moved to No. 10 in Class 1A. The Tigers entered a ranked showdown against No. 6 Notre Dame with a 4-2 record, although the Tigers fell in four sets.

A 2-3 day at the Mount Vernon tournament last week set Mid-Prairie back a bit in Class 3A, although the Golden Hawks are still ranked in the Top-15, as they sit at No. 15 in the class.
