New London wrestling falls twice at Don Bosco

GILBERTVILLE — New London took a pair of losses on the mats in Gilbertville on Tuesday, as the Tigers traveled to take on a couple of tough teams.

New London was upended by hosting Don Bosco by the final score of 78-3. Wapsie Valley beat the Tigers 60-24.

The Tigers’ lone win against Don Bosco came from 2022 state third-place finisher Dominic Lopez. Lopez took down Don Bosco’s Andrew Kimball on a 3-0 decision.

Don Bosco, on the other hand, had six pins en route to a resounding victory.

The Tigers had four wins against Wapsie Valley, all pins. Gage Burden scooped up a pin at 120 pounds. Corbin Jacobs-Jewell pinned his man at 145 pounds. Lopez got a pin at 160 pounds, and Michael Raines finished on top at 170 pounds.
