New records set at Columbus girls game
A total of five new records were set at the Columbus girls basketball game Monday, Feb. 6, in a contest played on the road at Tipton which ended in a loss for the Wildcats.
Bailey Strould broke the school record for career assists, 305, and also tied the single season record for 3-point shots made, 69.

A total of five new records were set at the Columbus girls basketball game Monday, Feb. 6, in a contest played on the road at Tipton which ended in a loss for the Wildcats.
Bailey Strould broke the school record for career assists, 305, and also tied the single season record for 3-point shots made, 69.
Shania Boyd broke the school record for free-throw attempts in a career with 416, broke the record for the most free throws made in a season as well as for the most career free throws made, with 244 total.
In the game, Columbus was behind 8-16 after the first quarter. They scored another eight points in the second quarter, but Tipton scored 14 to keep the lead at 30-16.
Tipton would dominate the scoring in the third quarter with 20 points to Columbus? six and Columbus scored 10 in the fourth quarter while Tipton added 13 to hand Columbus the 32-63 loss.
Boyd led the team in scoring with 15 points. She also had 10 rebounds and three assists.
Stroud scored seven points and had three assists. Maki Mendenhall had four points and eight rebounds, Courtney Zaehringer had three points, Angie Byas scored two and Jayden Poehler scored one.
The girls have a record of 11-10 and are 8-8 in conference play.
