Newcomers help IMS girls at Durant
Four newcomers helped the IMS girls? track and field team place in the top six in six events at the Durant Wildcat Relays on Tuesday night.
Senior Anya Slabaugh cleared 4 feet, 6 inches to take second place in the high jump competition, and sophomore Riley Schmeider finished third in the 3,000-meter run in 13:01.69. Slabaugh also finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 19.54 seconds.

Four newcomers helped the IMS girls? track and field team place in the top six in six events at the Durant Wildcat Relays on Tuesday night.
Senior Anya Slabaugh cleared 4 feet, 6 inches to take second place in the high jump competition, and sophomore Riley Schmeider finished third in the 3,000-meter run in 13:01.69. Slabaugh also finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 19.54 seconds.
The 4x100 relay team of Slabaugh, Kristin Davis, newcomer Olivia Yutzy and newcomer Hannah Miller took fourth place in a season-best time of 56.78 seconds. The 4x200 relay team, which included newcomer Jacayla Litwiller, Alvard Mamikonyan, Michaela Gingerich and Miller, finished sixth in 2:18.97, and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Litwiller, Mamikonyan, Gingerich and Slabaugh was sixth in 2:29.56.
The IMS girls finished seventh at the meet with 36 points.
