No. 12 Mid-Prairie tops Keokuk

Even though No. 12 Mid-Prairie was missing several key players for Monday?s non-conference match against visiting Keokuk, other players stepped up to help the Golden Hawks defeat the Chiefs 5-2.

Sophomore Sage Becker scored her first varsity goal off of an assist by sophomore Ali Riggan in the first half, and then the Golden Hawks added four more goals after halftime. Riggan scored goals on assists from senior Taylor Hershberger and junior Kira Kerkove, and then senior Emma Lampe scored her first goal of the season on an assist by sophomore Cassidy Bontrager. Finally, Becker scored her second goal of the match on an assist by Hershberger.
Mid-Prairie (7-2) travels to Holy Trinity today for a non-conference match that will begin at 5 p.m.
