No. 13 W-MU goes 0-3 at HTC

FT. MADISON - The 13th-ranked Winfield-Mt. Union volleyballt eam finally felt the effects of the absense of star hitter Jenna Buffington on Monday night. The Wolves went 0-3 in a tough field at the Holy Trinity tournament.
The Wolves were swept in each pool play game. Danville was the first team to take down the Wolves, defeating them 21-15, 21-19.
W-MU fell to hosting Holy Trinity 21-7 and 21-12. The Wolves then closed out the day with a 21-17, 23-21 loss at the hands of Keokuk.
Melina Oepping led the Wolves with 11 kills on the day. Anna Hudson had eight kills.
Kayla Edwards paced the Wolves with 18 assists on the day. She was also 17-18 serving the ball with six aces.
Kyndal Townsley had 32 digs on the day to lead the team. Jami Wilkerson finished the day with 17 digs, and also went 17-17 serving the ball with two aces.
W-MU is now 12-6 overall and 4-0 in the SEISC North Division. The Wolves will travel to Lone Tree for their SEISC tournament pool play day on Thursday, Sept. 26.
