No. 15 Mid-Prairie falls to No. 7 Bellevue

Mid-Prairie, ranked 15th in Class 3A, faced its second ranked opponent in as many days Saturday and lost the high school girls basketball game to the visitors from Bellevue.
Bellevue 65, Mid-Prairie 40
The visitors won the River Valley Conference game by taking a 14-1 lead in the first quarter, then outscored the Golden Hawks 20-10 in the fourth stanza.
Shae Becker led the Golden Hawks with 13 points and Maddie Nonnenmann chipped in 10. Kessa Jones led MP in rebounds with six and assists with three.
Mid-Prairie (6-2) plays at Wilton tonight. Bellevue is 9-0.
WACO 47, Winfield-Mt. Union 20
Clara Schmitz was the only player to score in double figures in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference non-divisional game at Winfield.
Schmitz scored 16 points on 7 of 8 shots from the field. Maysan Lee added eight points and WACO teammate Aubri Garnsey seven.
Jenna Buffington led W-MU (2-7) with eight points and six rebounds.
WACO is 3-6 and plays at New London tonight.
Wapello 33, Keota 28
The visiting Eagles lost their fourth straight after winning three in a row. This was a nonconference game at Wapello (6-2).
Jill Schulte paced Keota with 12 points, making 4 of 6 3-point attempts. Paige Thompson had seven points and six rebounds. Addison Sprouse had three assists and two steals.
Keota is 3-7 and plays at No. 3 (Class 1A) Montezuma tonight.
