WILLIAMSBURG — Mid-Prairie football has had a rough go with Williamsburg this season.
On Friday, the Golden Hawks had their season ended by the hands of the Raiders, 63-7, in a two Class 2A second round playoff bout.
It’s the second time this season that Williamsburg has got the better of Mid-Prairie as they down the Golden Hawks in the regular season as well 56-7.
The Raiders are rated No. 2 for a reason, but that didn’t faze the Golden Hawks in the playoff matchup.
Mid-Prairie showed it wasn’t going to back down to the River Valley opponent.
After one quarter of play, the Golden Hawks and Raiders were all knotted up at 7-7.
Things changed in the second quarter as Williamsburg opened the floodgates.

At the half, Mid-Prairie trailed 42-7 as they were never able to get a rhythm going. The Raiders added seven more in the third and 14 in the fourth.
Mid-Prairie struggled to contain a Williamsburg rushing attack that finished with 350 yards in the win.
For the Golden Hawks, Collin Miller finished with 62 yards passing and a touchdown.
Braden Hartley tallied 63 yards on the ground and Cain Brown caught the lone touchdown pass, while also finishing with 57 yards receiving.
