Even though her Golden Hawks (6-14, 0-5 CVC) lost on Monday night, head coach Melissa Stumpf was proud of how her team battled against the Bears (21-1, 5-0 CVC).
?We knew tonight was going to be a tough night for us,? she said. ?West Branch is hands down a good team with a very quick offense. It took us most of Game 1 to adjust to what they were doing. In Game 2 we had the mentality to go out and just play. The girls were playing hard, laughing and going after every ball. We played point-for-point with them up until about point 12.?
Senior Kari Horesowsky had four kills to go with five assists on the night, and junior Courtney Shalla had two kills and five assists. Senior Mallory McArtor had a team-high 11 digs, and sophomore Ashley Miller added six digs.
