No. 4 Van Buren wins Moravia triangular

The Cardinal volleyball team gave No. 4 Van Buren yet another tough game on Monday night, but the Warriors preservered and defeated the Comets, along with hosting Moravia, to go 2-0 on the night. The Comets finished an even 1-1 with a win over the hosting Mohawks.
The Van Buren-Cardinal game was the only three-setter of the day. The Comets got on top with a 25-17 win, but the fourth-ranked Warriors won the second set 25-15 and then closed it out 15-8.
Selena Sayre had 18 kills in the win for Van Buren. Isabel Manning tallied 18 digs, and Logan Schmidt had 18 assists.
Van Buren rolled over Moravia in their second game of the day. The Warriors won 25-7, 25-8.
Sayre had 10 kills against the Mohawks. Grace Davidson finished with 10 digs, and Madison Bartholomew dished out 10 assists.
Cardinal took down the Mohawks 25-20, 25-21.
Van Buren moved to 14-2 with the wins. After their game against Danville on Tuesday, the Warriors will head to Burlington for their SEISC pool play site at Notre Dame on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Cardinal moved to 9-4 after the split. They'll be at Lone Tree for their pool.
