Highland gave seventh-ranked Mediapolis all it could handle for three quarters, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the fourth quarter of Thursday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division game for a 56-39 win.
The Huskies (10-10, 8-10 SEISC North), who lost 65-27 at Mediapolis on Dec. 18, trailed by two points at halftime and by seven heading into the fourth quarter before the Bulldogs finished the game with a 13-3 run.
?I was proud of our effort,? Highland head coach Jody Fink said. ?We played pretty well for the most part, but Mepo just got the last run on us.?
Sophomore Chelsey Lampe scored a career-high 18 points to lead Highland, and senior Kelsey Doreo added 12 points.
Senior Jessica Holsteen and sophomore Andrea Larson scored 12 points apiece to lead Mediapolis (19-1, 18-0 SEISC North), which wrapped up its undefeated run through conference play.
