No. 8 New London goes 2-2 in Keokuk

KEOKUK - The eighth-ranked (1A) New London voleyball team had two blowout wins and two nail-biter losses in the Keokuk tournament this weekend. The Tigers picked up two-set wins over Columbus and Notre Dame, but fell in three against Central Lee and lost two close sets against Knoxville.
The Tigers started things off by sweeping Columbus. New London took the first set 21-18 and the second set 21-7.
New London had its shot at revenge against Central Lee, but fell in a classic. The Hawks escaped in three sets, 21-13, 14-21, 16-14.
New London lost their next game against Knoxville, falling 22-20 and 21-19, but they finished the night off with a 21-9, 21-13 win over Notre Dame.
Addie Pry and Sofie Reighard both eclipsed 20 kills on the day. Pry finished with 24 and Reighard had 21. Keaura Williams had 18 kills. Alexa Wenger and Marah Hartrick each ended up with seven.
Kyra Linkin led the squad with 45 digs. Hartrick had 43, Christensen had 32 and Wenger finished with 28. Aliyah Christensen finished with 60 assists. Reighard led the way with five blocks.
Hartrick had a fantastic day serving. She went 41-43 with 12 aces. Christensen was 41-31 with six aces, and Wenger went 34-34 with three aces.
New London is now 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the division. They'll be at Holy Trinity for SEISC pool play on Thursday, Sept. 26.
