Offensive struggles impede Wolves

WINFIELD - The Winfield-Mt. Union offense was stagnant for the second-straight game when they hosted English Valleys on Friday night. The Wolves scored just twice on offense and gave up both a defensive and special teams score in a 32-12 loss.
EV led W-MU 19-6 after one quarter of play and neither team scored in the second quarter. The Wolves were outscored 13-6 in the second half.
Both of the Wolves' touchdowns were on the ground. Andrew Brady ran for 82 yards and a score, and quarterback Abram Edwards went for 40 yards and a rushing touchdown. Cam Buffington added 54 rushing yards for W-MU.
Edwards went 2-for-5 for 30 yards throwing the ball. Buffington caught one pass for 18 yards, a nd Caleb Giese caught a pass for 12 yards.
The W-MU defense was led by Buffington, who finished the night with 10.5 tackles. Chance Malone and Jack Jennings had five tackles apiece, and Seth Schurr had one fumble recovery.
The Wolves are now 3-3 overall and 2-3 in district play. They'll host WACO (3-3, 2-3) next week.
