One more match, one more win for MSAE boys
Rain once again tried to spoil a Maharishi School boys? tennis team victory on Monday, but it came too late as the Pioneers swept through the singles before heading inside and coming away with an 8-1 win over Fort Madison.
MSAE moves to 4-1 on the season after Thomas Weiss stayed true to form and won a convincing 6-3, 6-1 match over Trent Eaves at No. 1 singles. Even more convincing was Joseph Gelfand at No. 2

2 singles not giving up a single game en route to a 6-0, 6-0 win. Derek Thatcher won 6-1, 6-2 over Jinwei Chen and Sam Arsanjani withstood a second set charge from Dylan Hogan to win 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4. Jay Stewart also won at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Josh Perry.
Brenton Schwartz dropped the first set of the day for MSAE, 6-3 to Jacob Moon, but rebounded immediately with a 6-3 win of his own before winning a fight to the bitter end with an 11-9 super-tiebreak score to secure the win.
Hard rains drove play indoors for doubles where the Pioneers continued to pile up wins starting with Gelfand and Thatcher?s 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles. Weiss and Arsanjani won the next doubles match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2. In No. 3 doubles, Chen and Moon broke through for Fort Madison taking a 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8 win for the first victory of the evening.
MSAE will be at home again tonight with a tough match against Burlington set for 4:15 p.m.
