The Iowa High School soccer boys and girls season is now underway as area squads played their first games of the new year.

Just a handful of teams from around the area that were scheuduled to play actually made it onto the pitch as weather canceled a slew of games.

Of those that did play, just two picked up wins. Those two teams were Mid-Prairie and Danville/New London on the boys’ side.

Just one Union area girls teams played so far this week.
