The Mt. Pleasant girls soccer team stayed unbeaten on Monday with a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory in a Southeast Conference road game at Fort Madison.
Senior forward Anna Ostby was the hero, netting the game-winning goal in overtime, to help the Panthers secure their fourth win in a row.
Ostby’s goal broke a tie that stood since midway through the game. The Panthers and Bloodhounds each put up two goals in the first half but didn’t score in the second.
Andrea Lopreato had both first-half goals for Mt. Pleasant. She assisted on Ostby’s game-winner.
Emma Pieper spent 85 minutes in net for Mt. Pleasant and saved 10 of the 12 shots on goal she faced. Andi Scott was in net for five minutes and did not face a shot.
The Panther girls are now 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the SEC. They will host Washington (3-1, 2-1) on Thursday.
