The Washington boys? track team got its season started on Friday afternoon at the Demon Indoor Invitational. The Demons hosted the meet at Cornell College in Mount. The state meet for the Washington archery teams ended with a lot of success for the Demons. The combined efforts of Lincoln Elementary, Washington Middle School and Washington High School helped the Demons qualify 16 archers to the national tournament, held May 7-9 in Louisville, Ky. Despite a disappointing 6-16 record, the Washington boys? basketball team was well represented on the Southeast Conferences? All-Conference teams. The Keota girls? basketball team had three seniors recognized by the South Iowa Cedar League?s postseason team. Madison Sheetz was named to the All-Conference second team, leading the team with an average of 13 points per game, while picking up a team-high 8.4 rebounds on the season and averaged nearly two steals per game.
