MT. PLEASANT — For the Mt. Pleasant Panthers’ boys and girls bowling team, everything came together on Thursday as the Panthers grabbed two wins over Fairfield.
The Panther boys picked up a slim 62 pin win, 2564-2502, over the Trojans, while the girls were victorious 2272-1765.
It was a tight competition all the way through in the boys’ match. Following the individual games, the Panthers led by just 17 pins.
The Trojans bounced back to begin the baker games, taking a four pin lead after the first baker game. It was short-lived as Mt. Pleasant pull away in the next two bakers, leading by 98 pins after the third.
Fairfield would slim the lead once more, trailing by 24 pins after the fourth baker game, but Mt. Pleasant was able to extend that lead in the final baker and pull away with the win.
On the girls side of things, Mt. Pleasant controlled all the way through. After the individual games, the Panthers held a 336 pin lead. Mt. Pleasant extended that lead into the bakers, coming away with an additional 171 pin lead.
The Panther boys improve to 4-3 on the season, while the girls moved to 6-1.
The Fairfield boys fall to 2-4 and the girls drop to 3-3.
